FAQ

What is a zine?
To put it simply, a zine is a fan-made magazine where artists gather to create art revolving around a specific theme.
Where do the earnings go to?
All earnings will be donated to a charity that is yet to be decided, although it's worth noting that we're going to avoid charities that already have a lot of spotlight.
Will there be a physical copy I can buy?
Unfortunately we don't have experience with selling physical merchandise and would prefer to stay safe, aside from the fact that us hosts are from Europe and therefore shipping costs would be higher than the price of the zine.
Will you accept comics or written works?
Yes and maybe! Comics up to 8 pages are definitely allowed, but as for writing we will decide after we ran the interest check.
Are my OCs or (this character) allowed?
This zine explores all parts of the sea creatures' lifestyles, so contrary to most zines, all characters are absolutely allowed! If you decide to show the idols after work, your OCs persuing their hobbies, or the creatures of the Deep Sea Metro in their homes is all up to you. Just keep it in-universe.
I'm not very popular, can I still join?
We're choosing people solely based on their portfolio! We want to give smaller artists a moment to shine as well, but bigger artists deserve to join a community project too. No matter your follower count or skill, you can always apply!
What if I don't have a portfolio?
Clean gallery-like social media accounts such as Instagram, art only Twitter, Artstation, Artfol, DeviantArt or a simple Google Drive folder will do (just make sure we can access it). It does not need to be Splatoon art only, just your works you like the most. At least 1 splatoon piece and 1 piece showing what you could possibly make for the zine will greatly improve your chances!
Is there going to be a Discord server for the zine?
It is mandatory for all accepted artists and writers to join our Discord server for further information and updates.
